Melissa Cubria works as an Advocate for the Texas Public Interest Research Group (TexPIRG). Her issue areas of focus include health insurance, road privatization and tax and budget policy. Her past work experience includes teaching English at a bilingual school in Mexico where she headed the literature department and taught courses in Greek Mythology and Shakespeare. Prior to joining TexPIRG, Ms. Cubria worked as the Health Policy Advocate for
the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law in Chicago,
Illinois.
